Yakima HighRoad Roof Bike Rack Review - 2023 Ford F-150- Video
I'm Matt with etrailer, and today we're talking about the Yakima HighRoad rooftop bike rack on our 2023 Ford F-150. Now this is gonna be a great option for you if you're trying to go out on a bike ride and you wanna put your more light duty bikes on top of your roof, or in some cases, you can put this on a ladder rack or a bed rack if you have one of those. We just have a roof rack today, but it's gonna be the same either way, so let's check it out. With it on your roof, this is probably gonna be the highest it's gonna sit on top of our vehicle and it is gonna be really hard to reach. If you're going out with a friend and you have two of these on here, I'd recommend you both helping each other to get this off. Now if you don't have a friend, if you're riding by yourself, I'd recommend looking at some other options. more

Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we have the Rhino-Rack XTray Pro Cargo Basket, and we're gonna take a look at how it fits our 2018 Ford Escape. If you're looking for a way to carry around some extra cargo on your Ford Escape, whether it's because you have a long road trip and you're running out of space inside your vehicle or maybe there's just some large bulky items that you'd prefer not dirtying up the interior of your car, that's where a basket like this comes in handy. It's just gonna be a large basket, so your items can get piled up on top of it, but you do have to be mindful that since it is open to the elements, you have to be considerate of those elements and making sure that everything is strapped down. So if that's something that you're interested in, let's take a look. This is gonna be a large basket and I do like how it fits our Ford Escape because it almost completely fills in that roof fitting in between our raised rails, but also not sticking too far out. more

Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Racks Review - 2018 Ford F-150- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima FrontLoader wheel mounted bike rack and seeing how it fits on our 2018 Ford F150. This is gonna be a roof-mounted bike rack but you can see we've got it over our bed today. Really all this needs is a set of crossbars to attach to whether that's a roof rack, ladder rack or an over the bed rack like we have today. It's gonna be a great way to mount your bike up. And personally I think this is gonna be the ideal way to use a bike rack on your F150 because depending on how you're mounting this up, this might be your only option. more

And I think honestly, for a lot of applications, especially if you're planning on carrying a bike on your roof, this is a better alternative. It's gonna be a really excellent solution for carrying your bikes on top of your roof. What I like about this one is I can carry all types of different kinds of bikes up here. So I have a carbon road bike up here with the quick-release, but if you have a thru-axle bike, this is also gonna work out for thru-axle bikes too. So, giving you a couple of specs on it. Yakima Roof Bike Racks Review - 2009 Ford F-150- Video
Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima HighRoad. This roof rack bike carrier is gonna be excellent to go ahead and give you a way of carrying your bike. So, today, we do have it on our RetraONE XR Hard Tonneau Cover with T-slot attachments. Now, you guys don't have to get that, it's an amazing little tonneau cover, does a great job of covering your bed, and as you guys can see, it gives you a way to get a host of different accessories on here, including your HighRoad. However, there's gonna be a lot of different ways you can go ahead and actually mount this, one great way can look at the Yakima BedRock System, that's gonna go ahead and allow you to clamp onto your side rails and give you this crossbar system to go ahead and mount it. Now, of course, you could go ahead and throw it on the roof of your vehicle as well, but you guys can see on the F-150 here today, definitely gonna be hard to actually get up onto. more

What sets this apart from most roof bike racks is the fact that you don't have to take the front wheel off, and there's not a fork mount. Instead, we have this wheel hook up at the front to hold everything in place, and then we have two wheel straps on either side.It also comes with locks for an integrated cable lock that is included, so you can secure your bike to the bike rack, and there's also a lock up top here, which you can lock the bike rack to the roof rack as well, but we'll get to that in a minute. With the bike rack installed as it is, we're not going to have an issue of clearance between the trunk and bike rack. As you can see here there's plenty of space.The straps here are adjustable back and forth to accommodate bikes of different sizes. Let's go ahead and take the bike off. more

It also locks up at the top here to secure to your roof rack as well, but we'll get to that in a minute or two.As it stands right now with everything installed, we're not gonna have an issue of clearance between the trunk and the bike rack as you can see here. Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the Rocky Mounts Brass Knuckles Rooftop bike rack, part number RKY1202.We already have our bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact. With no frame contact at all. We're going to have the two straps to either side, which are adjustable to accommodate bikes of different sizes, and then we'll have this wheel hook up at the front with these brass knuckle-like handles here to pull it down into place.Now, this is pretty unique as opposed to most other rooftop bike racks, as they usually grip the bike by your fork mats and you have to remove your front tire. With everything installed as it is, there's going to be more than enough space between a bike rack and the trunk so you're not going to have any issues of clearance.Let's go ahead and take the bike off real quick. more

How your bike is going to be gripped to the bike rack, we're not gonna have any frame contact at all. Instead, we're gonna have a rear wheel mount here, which is adjustable to accommodate for bikes of different sizes, and a wheel strap that'll hold the wheel in place.Up at the front, we have this skewer mount, which is gonna hold your bike by the fork mounts here, so you'll have to remove your front tire. At the end here, there is actually a locking mechanism that you can take this plastic piece out, and replace with the Thule lock core, which is sold separately. Once you lock this down, not only are you going to lock the bike to the bike rack, but the bike rack is going to be secured to your roof rack as well, and we'll get to that later.With everything installed, the issue of clearance is gonna be non-existent between the trunk and the bike rack. As you can see, there's plenty of space in between. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Explorer we're gonna be test fitting the Rhino Rack MountainTrail rooftop bike rack, part number RBC035. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike attaches to the rack, we're not gonna have any frame contact at all, instead we're going to have this wheel strap at the rear, which is adjustable the length of the bike rack to accommodate bikes of different sizes. Closer to the front, we have this skewer that will grip your bike by the fork mounts and hold it in place and this has a lock on it already so you can actually secure your bike to the bike rack once everything's installed properly. With everything installed as it is, we're not gonna have any issues of clearance between our rear hatch and the bike rack as you can see here, there's plenty of space. So, let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. To do that, we'll first release the rear strap by pushing in the top portion of the tab and pushing up. Then going up towards the front, while holding onto the bike so it doesn't fall into the vehicle, we'll release front skewer mount, like so, and grab our bike. How this actually attaches to the roof rack, we're going to have this padded bracket here with the two turn knobs to tighten up against our rear crossbar. more

Today in our 2010 Ford Edge we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Trio roof bike rack, part number TR02. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go and take a closer look and show out some of the features. Now how the bike actually attaches to the rack we're going to have no frame contact at all so you're not going to have to worry about scratches or dents on your bike when you're loading it up. Instead, we have a skewer at the front here which grips the bike by it's port mounts and then at the rear we have this strap in the back. Now with the bike on there, I'm going to go ahead and open up the rear hatch. This is just to illustrate you're not going to have any clearance issues between the hatch itself and the bike rack. Today on this 2010 Ford Edge, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Circuit XT Roof Bike Rack. Part number TH526XT. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now how the bike is actually attached to the rack there's going to be no frame contact at all, which is nice so your bike will not get scratched up. Instead we have a skewer here at the front that grips around your bikes fork mounts and we also have a wheel strap here at the rear to hold that in place. With the bike on, I'd like to go ahead and open up the rear hatch here. As you can see we're not going to have any issues of clearance between the hatch and the bike rack itself. How the bike rack actually attaches to the roof rack we're going to have this plastic bracket here with these two turn knobs that'll tighten it into place. more

Today on this 2016 Ford Escape we're going to be test fitting the Thule Circuit XT Bike Rack for fork mounts, part number TH526XT. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have two points of contact with no frame contact at all. We're going to have a wheel strap at the back here, and up at the front, it grips it by the forks using this skewer which you can pop out this portion here and switch it out with a lock so it will be nice and secure on your roof. Let's take the bike off and set it aside. To do that we'll take, with our wheel strap, we'll take the tab here, push it in like so, and then holding onto our bike while we do this, we'll open up the skewer by popping up this lever, and lifting it up and out. How this actually attaches to your vehicle here, close this up. Pop this up here, and this actually .. We actually have to remove the skewer here to pop this portion up, and this will actually clamp down around your front crossbar by wrapping around this portion of the clamp here. more

How this is actually installed on the rack, there's going to be two points of contact with your bike with no frame contact at all. We're going to have a wheel strap at the rear here, and up at the front it's going to grip it by the fork mounts with this skewer here. This is already locked into place so your bike is going to be secure when this is installed. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. To do that, with the wheel strap in the back we'll push in on the tab on the side which will release the strap. Then at the front, when you loosen this up, you always want to make sure you grip the bike so it doesn't go swaying one way or the other. more

To do that, with the wheel strap, we'll push in on this tab, undo that, we'll unlock our top portion here, open that up, then we'll take the skewer and open it up by loosening up this handle like so. more

Rhino Rack Roof Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ford Escape- Video
Today on this 2016 Ford Escape we're going to be test fitting the Rhino-Rack Hybrid Roof Bike Rack, part number RRRBC050. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this is attached to the bike rack, we're going to have three points of contact. We're going to have two wheel straps in front and the rear and we're also going to have this wheel hook up at the front so you don't have to actually have to worry about anything like fork mouths where you have to take off the front tire and the whole bike is going to be up there. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. We'll start with the wheel straps. You'll push in the tab here on the side, like so, and do the same at the front. more

RockyMounts Roof Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ford Escape- Video
Today on this 2016 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles roof mount and bike rack, part number RKY1202. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show how it's installed. We're going to have three points of contact with the bike to attach it to the rack, with no frame contact at all. We're going to have wheel straps at the back and at the front, as well as a wheel hook to keep it in place. You don't have to take the front wheel off, since there's no fork mounts involved with this. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

Rhino Rack Road-Warrior Roof Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ford Escape- Video
Today in this 2016 Ford Escape we are going to be test fitting the Rhino-rack road worrier rooftop bike rack part number: RBC036 . We already have a bike attached on the rack lets go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How it attaches to the rack, we are going to have two points of contact with the bike with absolutely no frame contact at all. We are going to have this skewer up at the front that's going to hold the bike by it's fork mouths and it is lockable for a little bit of security. Towards the ear here, we have this wheel strap. Lets go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. To do that with the rear wheel strap you just push it on this tab here, this will come lose. Moving on to the front, you'll unlock the skewer pop it out like so, you'll turn it to the right to tighten it down, you'll have to loosen it to accommodate different forks. more

Today on our 2015 Ford Focus, we're doing a test fit on the Inno Multi-Fork Lock Roof Mounted Bike Rack. That part number is INA392. We already have a bike secured down, and first we're going to show you how we do that. Here on the back at our wheel cradle, we have a ratcheting strap. The great thing about our wheel cradle is that it does move up and down the length of our bike rack to accommodate different bikes. Up at the front, we have our locking cover here. We'll just remove that out of the way, and then we have our anti-theft and tampering device, and we've got our skewer. We'll open up this side with the back lever, and we can loosen and tighten that skewer using the opposite side. more

Thule Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ford Focus- Video
Today on our 2015 Ford Focus we're doing a test fit of the Thule Sprint T-Track Mounted Bike Rack, that part number is TH569. Now we already have out bike secured in place but first I'm going to show you how we do that. Here in the back we have our ratcheting wheels strap with that pushing that's going to protect the lower portion of our tire and then we also have this wheel cradle back here that's adjustable up and down to accommodate different bikes you may have. Here are at the front we have our skewer, it does have a lock on here. Now this is a little different than other skewers, to loosen it we're going to rotate this knob at the end toward us and then to tighten it we'll rotate it away from us. We'll know it's completely tighten when it pops just like that. We'll just loosen this up a bit and we'll be able to remove our bike. more

Thule Roof Bike Racks Review - 2013 Ford Focus- Video
Today, on our 2013 Ford Focus, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Sprint T-Track roof bike rack, that part # is TH569. We have a bike already on our rack, I'd like to show you a few features of it. First, I'd like to just show . Like I said, this is a fork-mounted bike rack, our knob up here tightens our skewer or unloosens it. Toward our back, we have our cradle with a strap around our back wheel, so let's go ahead and take that off. See that it has a nice little bushing on it to protect your wheels at all times. You take this off, like I said, just unscrew it toward yourself, but to tighten it up, you go to your out the way, and over here it clicks, that's when you know it's real tight. more
